An eight-week summer volunteer program giving high school students firsthand exposure to hospital life through weekly outpatient volunteering plus a lecture series led by BMC physicians, nurses, surgeons, and social workers.
Who should apply
Rising juniors and seniors, especially Boston residents, wanting low-barrier hospital exposure and direct contact with a wide range of healthcare professionals.
Eligibility
Students entering junior or senior year who can commit to all 8 weeks; preference for Boston residents. ~70 accepted, fills quickly.
What you get
- One recurring 3-hour weekly volunteer shift in outpatient areas
- Weekly lecture series with BMC clinicians and administrators
- Documentation of service hours and a certificate of completion
